The first Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event of 2024 has come and gone, introducing the world to the latest Galaxy S24 line.

Along with the usual hardware updates included in these new best-to-date smartphones, Samsung also showed off their new bit of kit, Galaxy AI, which will follow in Google’s latest Pixel ranges’ footsteps by integrating the AI tool into the new models.

Samsung Galaxy S24 line

As usual, there are three phones in the Galaxy S24 line; S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra. Also, as usual, the base range and the plus range are basically identical phones with the only difference being size. But that doesn’t make these phones any less impressive than they are.

As for the Ultra, the latest flagship in their Galaxy S range, it is the most remarkable version of the S Ultra phone Samsung has ever created.

Before we look at that, though, some features are shared between the three, starting with the display.

While the size differs between the three, the main specs that bring the unbelievably great quality remain for all three.

Each has a max refresh rate of 120 Hz, using a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 16M colour depth to provide crisp and vivid picture quality.

The base S24 has a 2340 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, while the S24+ and S24 Ultra share a 3120 x 1440 Quad HD+ resolution owing to their bigger size.

Some differences can be found in the camera, where the Ultra understandably takes the cake.

The S24 and the Plus have a maximum resolution of its rear camera of 50MP, while the Ultra goes up to 200MP. The Ultra has superior optical zoom, quality, digital zoom, and aperture.

But one of the biggest differences comes in the chipset, as the Ultra will come with the brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, providing an unmatchable amount of power.

It can deliver 240fps and has improved ray-tracing, delivering an incredible gaming experience if that’s what you want in a phone.

Otherwise, the chipset is also good for powering Samsung’s latest new piece of tech, Galaxy AI.

Galaxy AI

Galaxy AI will be implemented across the S24 range but will be best utilised in the Ultra.

Samsung has said that the AI will incorporate “meaningful intelligence to enhance every part of life.”

This means features such as Live Translate, which will enable barrier-free communication with intelligent text and call translations.

Chat Assist will allow you to ensure your text does not provide the wrong tone to the recipient, while ProVisual Engine, a suite of powerful AI tools, will help bring more creativity to your photos and videos when editing them.
