Orange - Buyers Guide
After clicking through Orange's website, having found the phone you want, you will then be able to start building up a pricing plan around your phone, following the drop-down menu on the left hand side of the main page. New Orange customers follow the guide below; current Orange customers may be eligible for a contract upgrade – see the section on Existing customers.
Existing Customers
Upgrading to/from a Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go plan – choose from the full range of Orange phones, and pick a new tariff – you will be required to enter your current Orange number and Orange online password in order to check whether you are eligible for an upgrade – this will usually depend up on the individual Terms and Conditions of your pre-existing contract.
Latest Offers – existing Orange customers can switch to a newer pricing plan if the terms and conditions of their current contract permit a contract upgrade.
I've chosen my tariff – what now?
You can add optional extras such as O2 Bolt-Ons, such as £100 messages for £5.00 a month on O2 Pay Monthly, opt for extras such as the O2 Bluetooth Headset for £19.99. After deciding on your extras, your O2 phone package is now complete, and you are ready to proceed to the checkout.
How can I pay?
After clicking 'Checkout' you will have the chance to review your package and check all the details before beginning the buying process – there are four stages to complete before clicking through to buy your phone.
Contact Details
When you come to pay, you will be required to enter your personal contact information including your full name, email address, your marital and work status and a contact phone number.
For security reasons you will also need to create a password for use when contacting Orange in the future – choose a combination of letters and numbers which isn't obvious, don't for example include any part of your name or address in your password.
If you want to have your phone delivered to another address, you can enter secondary address details in the next section.
Delivery
Here you can set the delivery date, most phones are usually delivered in 1-3 working days – deliveries before 10:00AM come with a £8.99 charge and deliveries before 12:00 midday comes with a £3.99 charge.
You can specify another date at a time which is most convenient for you, but additional charges apply for any deliveries made on a Saturday.
If you want to have your phone delivered to another address, such as your place of work, then you will need to enter the relevant details here. There is a text box on this page which allows you to provide instructions on how to get to your second address, where staff can park, so that your phone can be delivered to you as quick as possible with minimum fuss.
Payment Details
Payments for your package must be paid for via credit card, so you will need to have all the relevant details to hand. You will also be required to enter your bank details for the purpose of setting up a monthly direct debit for Pay Monthly contracts.
If paying by credit card you will need:
- Cardholder's name
- Type of card
- Card number
- Card security code
- Expiry date, start date and issue number
You will need your bank details for monthly direct debit payments:
- Account holders name
- Account number
- Sort Code
- Name of bank/building society
Confirmation
The last part of the buying process - when you have entered all of the details for payment and delivery, click through once more to summarise the details of the purchase and accept. A confirmation message will be sent to the email account you provided in the Contact Details section.
