What is the T-Mobile coverage like in my area?

T-Mobile StreetCheck provides updated coverage checks for both 2G and 3G services, allowing you to quickly compare the levels of service you can expect for basic phone services such as calling and texting and secondary applications such as video calling and picture messaging around your home address and place of work. Click on the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the T-Mobile site and scroll down to Coverage to access T-Mobile StreetCheck.

I want to switch to T-Mobile – can I keep my old number?

Contact your current network provider and ask for you PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) number; depending on the specific terms and conditions of your existing contract, the time it will take for your current operator to provide you with a PAC code will vary. Once you have your PAC code, switching your old number is a simple– after purchasing a phone from T-Mobile, you can begin the switching process online. Contact T-Mobile Customer Services through My T-Mobile. To complete the switching process you will need the following:

  • Your old mobile number
  • Your new T-Mobile phone number
  • The number of your new SIM card
  • The PAC from your current Service Provider
  • Contact details, your name, address, etc
Your old number should be ported to your new T-Mobile handset within 5 working days upon receipt of your details.

I have a contract with T-Mobile. Can I upgrade?

You can upgrade to a new tariff if you have less than one month left on your contract. T-Mobile PAYG customers become eligible for an upgrade after having been with the network for 9 months.
