Overview Specifications Pros Vs Cons
The battle has been joined. Nokia's great silver hope arrives to duke it out with the iPhone and it has almost a years head start on Apple's new toy. The N95 is probably the most anticipated handset since, well, the last big handset launch but when you look at the features on this phone it's hard to remain cynical.

The first headline feature that the N95 weighs in with is the 5 megapixel camera. The LG KG920 was the first handset in europe to feature such a powerful camera but, to put it mildly, it was not a big hit. The camera is also capable of DVD quality video capture at 30 frames per second. This is as good as the N93, the N95's predecessor but without it's added bulk. You can also post your photos direct to flickr.

This is where the N95 becomes really interesting. Browsing the internet on a mobile phone could often be a fustrating experience but the N95, with its HSDPA connection, almost rivals a home PC. With a GPS mapping function holding maps for 100 countries and 15 millions places of interest there are no more excuses for getting lost and us males no longer have to ask for directions.

For entertainment on the move there is a built in MP3 player that supports a variety of digital music formats, you can even use your favourite pair of headphones with the 3.5mm jack. Luckily the N95 has 160MB of internal memory and a microSD slot upgradeable to 2GB, so you have plenty of room to play with.

It's easy to become weary of the hype surrounding the next big mobile phone as there are few truly revolutionary products out there but with the breathtaking camera and multimedia functions its hard not to be excited by the N95. Steve Jobs of Apple should be afraid, very afraid.

My Nokia N95

Review by: James_DB from Hampshire, 18th December 2007

This is by far the best phone I have ever had. Having upgraded from a Nokia N80 I really didn't have much to get used to, but this version is much better than my previous handset.

The camera is amazing and even works in dark clubs on nights out without a problem, the phone software never crashes and I can usually get a couple of days battery life out of it.

I haven't given it a good rating for battery life and that is because my only problem so far with this phone was when the battery started to die after 3/4 of a day. This quickly fixed itself so was not a major issue and only happened for a couple of days.

All in all a great phone, probably for the 'I don't want a BlackBerry' generation!

Don't Nok the N95!

Review by: Thomas from Salisbury, 3rd January 2008

Probably one of the best-looking and performing phones out there by anyone's estimation. The phone is deceptively light and even feels a bit flimsy, but as it's a Nokia, the N95 comes with that aura of indestructibility, comforting to know as I'll probably end up dropping this one just as often as the others.

I've never really been much of a fan of additional features and functions on phones such as cameras, music and net browsing etc, but I have to say the N95 is the first phone I’ve seen that takes decent quality pictures and can adequately handle browsing – both of which don't look at all bad on the big 3 inch screen.

The camera is nothing short of stunning. I've mostly found the internet useful for planning journeys – getting postcodes of destinations from a google search and then inputting the postcode into the satnav.

I've not really used the music player that much tho – I shan't be parting with my Creative Labs Zen player just yet.

I have to agree with everyone else here, the battery life, it has to be said, is pretty weak altho given the power required to handle all the features, its not surprising. Just have to get used to daily battery charges.

Pros and cons

Review by: Vamone from Rickmansworth, 6th March 2008

I got this phone back in November 2007. If you are a Techie and love gadgets then this is the phone for you. I love gadgets but am not very tech orientated so consequently have struggled with all the features. So far I've not managed to work the radio or the GPS. My monthly bill seems to have gone up too. Guys seem to get on alot better with the phone. I'm regretting not going for something a bit simpler.
Battery life is better than expected but you have to remember to exit anything you were in otherwise this can drain the battery and remember you get charged if you spend too much time on the net. Camera is good and phone recharges from flat in less than 2 hours.

Moving up the mobile phone ladder!

Review by: janemdavies1256 from wales, 9th May 2008

I have recently upgraded my sony erricson cyber shot with a nokia N95. Wow! phones are moving along so fast. This phone can give you everything in one package. Camera, mp3, web and walk, gaming to mention just a few of its capabilities. The only let down is that the battery life is short because of all its uses. Having said that if you can afford the 8gb version, then the battery is supposed to have been improved. Come on t- mobile get it on your book list....
