A new BlackBerry device dubbed the Pearl 8120 and boasting "powerful functionality" has been made available in the UK, it has been announced.
The Pearl 8120 has been launched jointly by the Carphone Warehouse, which claims to be the leading mobile phone retailer in the UK and the Research In Motion (RIM) company.
In addition to the phone's functional qualities, it is described as being "sleek, small and elegant" and offers users a range of multimedia features and is capable of connecting to the internet via Wi-Fi.
A statement from the Carphone Warehouse read: "The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 provides an exceptional user experience through its intuitive trackball navigation system and RIM's popular SureType keyboard system.
"The smartphone also includes new features that enhance phone audio quality including enhanced background noise, wind and echo cancellation for better performance in loud environments like airports, restaurants or busy downtown streets."
Earlier this month, the Carphone Warehouse revealed its plans to make available a new kind of phone charger that it claims will be considerably less damaging to the environment than those currently on the market.
