A review of the latest BT Fusion offering has described the E72 as "perfunctory" with no real purpose.
According to Pocket-lint.co.uk, the E72, which is a standard Windows Mobile device, "doesn't feel like anything special" and suffers from cheap casing and an ill-fitting battery cover.
BT's E72 apparently looks no different from the mobile handset. The top half has a two-inch LCD screen and the bottom has a standard numeric keypad, with a four-way controller and shortcut buttons in the middle.
"The screen lies under a translucent plastic cover that gives a sort of oily look to the screen and you feel like you are peering into the screen, rather than it being right there on the surface," states the reviewer.
On the plus side, there is a shortcut to messaging on the side of the phone and there is also a shortcut button for voice notes, which records a clear reproduction of a conversation. It also has a useful Wi-Fi connection.
Moreover, it syncs with Outlook, which means handset owners can access their contacts while on the move.
According to BT's promotional material, the E72 can be linked to the BT Business Hub, a router that provides wireless connection (up to 25 metres) to broadband devices and services.
