LG has reported record sales for its Viewty model, which has now sold 550,000 units since its launch in November, making it the company's most popular model yet.
Following the success of the Viewty, LG has now announced the launch of a Dark Silver model, which features an improved jog wheel, to be sold from the end of January 2008.
The Viewty features a 5.0 megapixel camera and uses touch screen technology.
President and chief executive officer of LG Dr Skott Ahn said: "We knew we had something special when we created Viewty, and it turns out that over half a million customers agree with us."
The latest financial report from LG Electronics shows profits were up by 12 per cent in the fourth quarter on the previous year, while handset sales reached $1.32 billion (£0.67 billion) in the final quarter of 2007.
It is estimated that the company will increase sales in 2008 by ten per cent in a bid to "improve market leadership and profitability in handset and digital media and appliance business".
