A new mobile phone specifically tailored to users wanting to watch videos on YouTube is to be developed by manufacturer LG Electronics.
The company has announced a new agreement with the video-sharing site to provide exclusive YouTube-related services and features for its phones, which are set to be launched at the end of the year.
Among the features to appear on the phone will be the ability to watch, create and upload videos via a special user interface.
"For the first time, LG customers will be able to film, upload and view videos on YouTube using their mobile phone just as they would be able to from their home computer," commented Dr Skott Ahn, president and chief executive of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
Apple's new iPhone device also allows users to view YouTube content via Wi-Fi and Edge networks. YouTube content has also been made available on Apple TV.
