Google launches Picasa for iPhone

By Editorial Team (Friday, 14th December 2007)

Google has launched a new version of its Picasa imaging software compatible with Apple's iPhone handset.

Although currently available only in English, iPhone users are now able to view their hosted photo albums, in addition to the photo albums of other Picasa users.

"I'm happy to tell you that we've just released this new iPhone interface for Picasa," said Joe Walnes, a software engineer for Google's mobile team.

"After you go to Picasa on your iPhone and log in, you can quickly see all your albums that you've uploaded to Picasa Web," he added.

Among the other features offered by the new service is the ability to watch slideshows; it is also possible to search for specific photographs.

Google's new service will also function with Apple's iPod Touch.

Picasa is also available to users of Linux and Windows.
