Google has today won a leading mobile phone award.
The company came out on top in the search category of the Future Mobile Awards, chosen by Juniper Research.
Companies that have made a significant contribution in their sector and are expected to continue to do so are given the prize.
Dr Windsor Holden, panel judge and principal analyst at Juniper Research, claimed there were many reasons why the search engine firm was chosen.
He pinpointed Google Mobile as a prime factor, stating it had "provided consumers with a user-friendly interface and applications which have successfully translated its appeal in the fixed environment into the mobile space".
Sara Rowghani, product marketing manager for the company, said it was "excited" that its work in the mobile phone industry had been highlighted.
Meanwhile, SooZu, who develop internet technology for mobile phone use, have also this week been awarded a Future Mobile Award, for the web 2.0 category.
