A new mobile phone that is capable of offering users free access to a specific news site has been launched in Sweden, according to reports.
The Dagens Nyheter newspaper is now selling third-generation Nokia 6120 handsets that can directly connect to its website and allow users to read its content.
Dagens Nyheter editor-in-chief and publisher Thorbjoern Larsson told the AFP that the newspaper has seen high demand for the phone, believed to be the first of its kind in the world, from its readers.
"After we announced the launch ... we received so many calls that our switchboard broke down. There's a lot of interest out there," he remarked.
The classic version of the Nokia 6120 offers a 3G or HSDPA connection over which users can quickly connect to the web, as well as boasting a video recorder, two-megapixel camera and 2GB of expandable memory, among other features.
