Although mobile customers may be interested in finding the best deal, recent findings from Ofcom in Wales have also highlighted the importance of good coverage from mobile phone operators.

It has been revealed that one third of mobile phone calls made on the main route between North and South Wales are not successful because of bad reception, according to the Western Mail.

Industry watchdog Ofcom released the findings after testing the mobile phone signals on the road, reinforcing its request that mobile customers should be able to switch between networks to pick up the strongest signal.

Labour AM for Wrexham Lesley Griffiths explained: "I hope the findings of this survey will now help to persuade operators to seek joint solutions in delivering a much improved service across Wales."

Meanwhile, Vodafone has announced an agreement with Alcatel-Lucent, with the intention of working on new services to offer customers more convenience as technical platforms are developed.
