Motorola launches high-end camera phone

By Editorial Team (Monday, 23rd June 2008)

A new device which aims to give users digital camera-like features embedded within a phone has been unveiled by Motorola.

The ZN5 is the result of a collaboration with photo company Kodak and comes equipped with a xenon flash five-megapixel camera and auto-focus.

Available in the UK later this year, the phone also has WiFi capabilities and the Kodak Gallery function, providing users with a quick method of uploading pictures onto the internet.

Commenting on Motorola's intended market for the new device, gadget website Shiny Shiny states: "From their point of view, the ZN5 is finally the phone that's going to allow people to dump their digital camera in favour of carrying just one device."

By teaming up with Kodak, the manufacturer is hoping to challenge Sony Ericsson's Cybershot series and other high-end camera handsets such as the Nokia N82.

Sony Ericsson recently revealed details of its latest Cybershot model, the eight-megapixel C905.
