Mobile phone firm Motorola has launched a bid to dominate the Christmas market by unveiling nine new products for the fourth quarter of 2007.
The majority of the devices are new editions of handsets in the firm's low-end W series, in addition to a luxury version of the popular RAZR model and a new music phone, the Moto U9, Cellular-News.com reports.
According to Motorola, many of the new phones in the W range are based on the principle of ease-of-use and boast features such as FM radio and a large screen display, as well as WAP/GPRS capabilities.
"These devices are designed for consumers who are purchasing their first mobile phone, for those who simply want to talk and message on an easy-to-use phone, or for those who are looking to upgrade a basic phone," a statement from the firm explained.
On the other hand, the RAZR2 V8 Luxury edition is aimed at the higher end of the market, as it boasts new carat gold accents and snakeskin detail while coming with a matching patent leather carrying case.
According to Ovum, the new products demonstrate Motorola's current policy of focusing on "revamped versions of its existing models, rather than attempting completely new models".
