Movie offer for Motorola customers

Movie offer for Motorola customers

By Editorial Team (Wednesday, 11th June 2008)

Motorola has made major inroads into the mobile video market by becoming the first UK manufacturer to provide full-length films on its devices.

Using the firm's online store, Motorola customers will be able to choose from a selection of movies, download them onto their computer and then transfer them to their handset, paying between £5.99 and £8.99 per title.

According to the Guardian, films such as The Italian Job and Team America: World Police will be available to users during the early stages of the service.

Motorola's Andrew Till told the newspaper that the market for mobile video has potential for "massive growth".

He said: "They [phone users] want something they can watch while they are on the treadmill, on an exercise bike or while they are commuting when they don't want a large device."

Mr Till explained that users would typically watch about 20 minutes of a film while travelling to the office or working out in the gym.

Last week, Apple launched its iTunes movie service in the UK, enabling iPhone users to buy or rent films to watch on their handsets.
