A new phone set to be released by Nokia has been designed to enable users to shop for a range of goods via their mobiles, according to reports.
The technology being developed by the Finnish telecoms company will aim to enable consumers to go online, identify and order a particular item for delivery all while on the move.
Furthermore, the device is also expected to incorporate image recognition technology that will mean users can photograph an item they want to buy on their phones and make the desired purchase via the internet, reports the London Evening Standard.
James Waterworth from the Nokia Research Centre is quoted as saying: "This is one of the concepts we have developed and it's called 'augmented reality'."
"The concept is to take a picture then send the information to the internet."
Meanwhile, it has been revealed recently that Nokia is developing what it hopes will be one of the world's most environmentally-friendly mobile phones, using plant-based plastics and recyclable steel.
