The world's largest mobile phone manufacturer is to take on Apple tomorrow (November 1st) when it launches its own music player.
Nokia's Music Store is to stock millions of tracks from artists worldwide, including many independent labels, in an attempt to rival the popularity of Apple's iTunes and other online music stores.
The launch goes hand-in-hand with Nokia's new handsets - the N81 and N95 8GB - which are also set to hit shops tomorrow. The new mobile phones have the Nokia Music Store integrated, along with high-speed mobile broadband and high resolution cameras.
Richard Sandford, regional manager of Nokia Music UK & Ireland, said: "The Nokia Music Store offers great usability along with a huge selection of music. By having an integrated mobile and PC download service, the Nokia Music Store is a fantastic way to build a music collection that is truly mobile."
In related news, Nokia has also unveiled a new Bluetooth headset - the BH-101 - which enables more than eight hours of hands-free talk time.
