Mobile network O2 has become the latest company to develop an eco-friendly method of charging mobile phones.
The firm will showcase its new pedal-powered charger at the O2-sponsored Wireless festival in London next month, allowing people to boost their phone battery by spending a few minutes on a bicycle.
Users cannot actually travel anywhere while charging their handset, as the bikes are fixed to the ground, but O2 is confident that the pedal system will appeal to environmentally-conscious festival goers this summer.
The company's move comes hot on the heels of two innovative charger products developed by Orange for this week's Glastonbury Festival.
Revellers at the Somerset event can power their handsets using a device which attaches to the arm and stores kinetic energy produced by dancing, while the firm has also developed a solar-powered tent to charge phones at the festival.
Glastonbury starts today and runs until Sunday, with Wireless taking place in Hyde Park from July 3rd to 6th.
