It has been revealed that mobile phone customers planning to head overseas this summer could save money on texting with Orange, which has announced changes to its Travel portfolio charges.
According to the mobile phone operator, Travel Text will offer users savings of up to 50 per cent if they invest in the package for £6 per month.
Other advantages of the new deals include the Favourite Countries package, available from £5 per month, which allows customers to select from five countries such as France and Spain in order to receive reduced rates when calling from them.
Pricing and commercial director for the telecoms company Stephen Harris explained: "Orange is committed to making calling abroad simple, transparent and affordable for our customers. We have re-invigorated our roaming offers across the board."
Orange customers, including business mobile users, should contact the company to activate the services if interested in cheaper rates abroad.
Earlier in the year T-Mobile announced it was reducing the cost of sending a text when in EU member states by 38 per cent, with an 80 per cent cut in data roaming charges.
