Mobile phone services provider Orange UK has launched the BlackBerry 8820 smartphone in conjunction with wireless communications firm Research In Motion (Rim).
The handset is Rim's thinnest design and includes a global positioning system, media player improvements and has WiFi connectivity, making it compatible with Orange's Unique converged service.
In addition to an expandable memory slot, the phone also has a trackball navigation system and an easy to use keyboard. It can also switch between a WiFi network and cellular coverage.
"Rim produces a wide range of smartphones to help ensure our customers can find a BlackBerry smartphone that is ideally suited to their personal and business needs," said Charmaine Eggberry, spokesperson for Rim.
The handset is suitable for business clients and shares similarities with the earlier released 8800 model, VNUNet.com states.
