Broadband and mobile provider Orange has announced the expansion of its Orange Mail Internet Service (OMIS).
OMIS is now available as a pay-as-you-connect service and costs £2.50 per month, excluding normal data costs. It is also available as an add-on bundle, starting at £5.11 per month for a 250 MB data allowance.
The service works on a range of handsets and provides customers with a low-cost, reliable and easy-to-use alternative to email on the phone.
Martin Lyne, director of small business at Orange, said OMIS is the telecom's response to customer requests for a mobile email solution that works with the devices they already own.
"For small business owners who don't want to waste time setting up a new service or learning to navigate a new phone, this is a perfect solution," he added.
OMIS is compatible with Nokia Series 40 and Nokia Series 60, as well as a range of Sony Ericsson devices.
Orange has more than 16.9 million customers in the UK, 15.8 million of whom are mobile customers, while the remaining 1.1 million are broadband users.
