Samsung Mobile won three major gongs at the Mobile Choice Awards ceremony held in London on Thursday October 2nd.
The Samsung i8510 won the accolade for Best Camera Phone. It is the first handset to have an eight-megapixel camera installed in it.
It also features a 2.8-inch colour LCD screen and supports a number of video files such as DivX, WMV, Real Player and MPEG4.
In addition, the handset supports Wi-Fi connection, a GPS and variety of 3D games, prompting vice president Mark Mitchinson of Samsung Mobile UK to say: "I am optimistic that other customers will take a view and range this groundbreaking all-in-one device."
Photograph taking capabilities were not the only thing that Samsung was recognised for.
The company also received a gong for its Samsung F400, which won Best Music Phone, beating some stiff competition from Sony Ericsson.
With Bang & Olufsen technology, SmartBass system and a slide-up speaker, the phone was designed to provide excellent sound quality.
To compliment the hardware, the F400 also supports a music user interface as well as a FindMusic option to identify tracks.
As well as receiving honours for individual handsets, Samsung also took home the award for Best Manufacturer.
This prompted Mr Mitchinson to comment: "We are thrilled to have won the awards, and are particularly happy with achieving category specific recognition in two of our most important segments.
"To win Best Manufacturer is the ultimate accolade and is extremely satisfying for all concerned."
Meanwhile, Nokia won the award for Phone of the Year for the E71.
