Sony Ericsson has announced that it will be releasing its new slide-top smart phone on September 30th.
The XPeria X1 has been scheduled to hit the shelves by the end of month to ensure it is out in good time for the traditional Christmas rush on mobile phones, reports Mobile Mentalism.
Sony Ericsson's latest offering is designed to compete with the Nokia E90 and the hugely successful iPhone 3G.
It has a three-inch touch screen, which can be slid to the right to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard underneath.
In addition to the email capabilities, the handset also houses a 3.2-megapixel camera and GPS system.
Those who cannot wait for the release of the new Sony Ericsson may wish to purchase the Motorola MotoQ 9h. This item also features a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth wireless technology and a two-megapixel camera.
The handset may be an attractive option for music lovers due to its support of MP3, WAV, MIDI and AMR files. Video in MPEG4 and WMV are also playable.
