O2 customers are being offered the chance to enjoy a made-for-mobile drama, a "high-action thriller" entitled Cell.
The drama is the first of its kind and has been developed by Digital Studios, a division of Endemol, which has already produced the documentary Get Close to...the Sugababes for mobile phone users.
Head of Digital Studios in the UK Grahame Riddell explained: "What makes Cell a first is that we're applying production values normally associated with TV or film to a made-for-mobile series."
Cell is available in two-minute episodes, with three episodes available weekly priced at 50 pence each, or the whole series for £3.50.
It has also been announced that 3 and O2 are teaming up to launch a mobile video community entitled EyeVibe, which combines the already established SeeMeTV and LookAtMe! services.
The community will allow UK mobile subscribers to upload videos and potentially earn money from their clips
