Mobile phone operator Vodafone has been named as one of the world's most powerful brands, reports the BBC.
The annual Brandz Top 100 Most Powerful Brands survey has named Vodafone as the top UK company, as its value increased by 75 per cent over the past year.
Other mobile phone companies also featured in the list, such as China Mobile and Nokia, which came in at number nine ahead of Marlboro.
Search engine Google topped the list, as its brand has been valued at $86.1 billion (£43.47 million) - a brand which has expanded to the mobile internet.
Last year, the BBC reported that Google had unveiled software which is set to be released later in 2008.
It is hoped the new Android software could potentially lead to cheaper handsets as it will be free for mobile phone manufacturers to use and can reportedly improve access to the mobile internet.
