Vodafone has announced that it will be offering a discount of £10 per month on its £35 and £40 contracts - and revealed what mobile phone users would like to spend the saved money on.
It was suggested that the most popular way to spend a "life changing tenner" was to buy lottery tickets or scratch cards, followed by betting on a horse.
Ian Shepherd, director of consumer at Vodafone UK, explained: "Customers who sign up to a £35 or £40 price plan and trade in for the latest mobile will have an extra £180 in their pocket - perfect for investing in a nest egg for the future or making that special purchase."
With the money saved over an 18-month contract totalling £180, those asked said they would take a short break, invest it or buy furniture or clothes - fashion being the most important option for those living in Edinburgh.
Earlier this year, Vodafone announced it was teaming up with Orange UK in a mast-sharing scheme, which will result in improved network coverage for its mobile phone customers.
