| It's finally here!! The iPhone is possibly the most anticipated product launch in mobile phone history. Ever since Steve Jobs showed the world what was officially termed "technology's worst kept secret", people have been desperate to glean any nugget of information that they could possibly obtain.
In terms of plain old specifications, the iPhone has two downsides. For a start there is no 3G compatibility and the camera is a mere two megapixels. But putting these admittedly major points aside, you will see that the iPhone innovates in the most important area of all, user experience. The touch screen interface on the iphone is incredibly intuiitive. You can zip through the menus very quickly, without the lag that you find in other handsets. But the real marvel is the control system, which is modelled around gestures. For example, to shrink a picture you pinch your fingers and to expand it you move your fingers outwards. It could take some getting used to but it's going to be fun! Obviously the proof of the pudding is in the ipod and the iPhone definitely delivers. The ipod application is a breeze to use and it's very entertaining. Again you can zip through the menus and get to your track selection extremely quickly. Audio quality is also crystal clear as you would expect and the coverflow feature is fantastic. The iPhone does a number of things very very well indeed. But it does have it's drawbacks, the lack of 3G connectivity is a big deal in this country. However upgrades to the EDGE network, which are currently underway, could minimize this problem. The iPhone is a truly revolutionary product that you will fall in love with and will make your friends green with envy!! |

iPhone Dilema
Review by: Rob Styles from Manchester, 14th December 2007
I have just been down my local o2 shop to have a play with the iphone. Wow!! it is such a cool piece of kit!! Of course it doesn't have anywhere near as high spec as the Nokia N95 but what the iphone lacks in spec it gains in usability. Within 5 minutes I was working it (almost) as well as in the advert :) I think Im sold...Im going to get one.

IPhone
Review by: Steve T from Yorkshire, 8th January 2008
/>Same argument applies to the iPhone – it might not be as powerful as the N95 or the Viewty or whatever, but it makes up for this due to the fact that it is just such a great piece of technology to use. I've seen people in O2 shops just going in and being able to pick up an iPhone and play with it instantly without needing any customer assistance.
Similarly, after I bought mine, I've not once consulted the manual on how to make use of the functions as I’ve not needed to. Everything you need from a mobile device is quite literally at your fingertips.
I’m sure that in a few years time this version of the iPhone will be outclassed by a newer, more sophisticated version with a better camera and faster net access (I have to admit that the lack of 3G is a real pain), but I don’t really see how Apple can improve on the interface, which is the real strength of the iPhone. Fundamentally, it'll pretty much remain unchanged.
Consider how rudimentary the original iPods are in comparison to models such as the new 80GB ones, but (with the obvious exception of the iPod Touch, which is essentially an iPhone sans a phone) one thing remains a constant – the click wheel.
You could buy a more powerful and this year, you won't buy one that's as user friendly or as immediately accessible.

The phone is easy to use, great 02 coverage, great dialing on touchscreen and loudspeaker works well. It has the best music player you can get on a phone and browsing the web is so easy!
Top phone!
