Another day, another stylish slider from Samsung but you can rest assured that the E840 has some features that distinguishes it from the rest of the crowd. It has to be said that the E840 is not as technically accomplished as the U700. But the things that the handset can do, it does with aplomb.
The E840 comes equipped with all the functionality you would expect from a modern handset. A two megapixel camera has been included and the camera can capture some clear and crisp images. However the lack of a built in flash does hamper your photo options in bad light.
The built in MP3 player handles all the major file formats and outputs some crisp audio. The software that Samsung provide to move tracks to the phone is relatively easy to use, so you'll soon have some of your favourite tracks to listen to. Storage is handled by 70MB of internal memory which is upgradeable using the microSD card slot. It's not a vast amount of internal memory but it does the job.
The E840 is a solid phone that performs well in a variety of tasks. It's not as technically flashy as the U700 or the G600 but for those of us that just want a respectable phone that does everything well the E840 could be the right choice.
