Overview Specifications Pros Vs Cons
Hot on the heels of the chart busting G600, Samsung have released the all new and approved G800. In terms of looks the Samsung G800 is a bit of a departure from the styling of the G600, but it's more of a case of evolution rather than revolution. The Samsung G800 has a much sleeker and curvaceous feel to it and the 2.4" 262k colour display dominates the handset.

The big draw of the Samsung G800 is the camera. At 5 megapixels it is at the same level as the G600 but this time it comes with a xenon flash, 3x optical zoom, auto focus and face detection. The back of the Samsung G800 has a feel of a digital camera due to the lens cover, that ensures resistance against those pesky scratches.

HSDPA compatibility is another step up from the G600, enabling incredibly fast audio and video downloads in certain areas. Overall connectivity seems to have undergone a change as the Samsung G800 is both GPRS and EDGE compatible (up to class 10).

The Samsung G800 also comes complete with a 160MB of internal memory and a microSD card slot which is more than enough for most users to store video and their favourite tracks for use on the inbuilt MP3 player. All in all, the Samsung G800 promises to be another smash hit handset for the Korean technology powerhouse and if you choose the G800 you are not just getting a phone but a full multimedia machine. There are many true rivals to the Nokia N95 and now the Samsung G800 has joined the rapidly swelling ranks.

my new G800

Review by: kerry church from essex, 20th February 2008

This phone is fantastic for picture quality and features, it has optical zoom on this phone - which no other handset has... it almost replaces the digital camera.
I have been using this phone since thursday 17th jan 08 - and every call or if i'm lucky every other call drops out early / mid conversation.. My SP exchanged the handset for me which i recieved today 22 jan 08, and this handset is also faulty.

A friend of mine has the same model phone and has had the excact same problem also had the phone changed and same problem with new handset..

Apparantly my Service Provider states that the problem is wit the handset and 3G, as it is a 3G model, and when 3G drops out for whatever reason the phone should automatically switch over to 2G - It doesn't!!!

As a customer I would of thought Samsung and/or all service providers should test these phones before selling them.... If you really want this phone please wait a while so they can iron out the problems!!
