Specifications

Like so many of the Sony Ericsson Walkman range of phones, the W580i is a powerful multimedia handset with an emphasis on high quality audio playback. The slide-design and the quirky serif-ended handset features the Sony Walkman music player, featuring Mega Bass™ for improved bottom-end frequencies, the innovative TrackID™ music recognition function and full support for Bluetooth stereo headsets. The sound quality of the FM radio feature is also excellent and, RDS updates displaying station information, track names etc are displayed on the 240 x 320 TFT Colour Screen.

The W580i comes with a mobile email service which allows the user to receive, send & store their emails on their phone – EDGE connectivity allows for fast retrieval. A 2 Megapixel 4 x digital zoom camera is included which is fine for taking fun pictures, but the main emphasis of the W580i is its audio output – for those more interested in taking pictures on their phone, a handset from the Sony Ericsson CyberShot range would be a worthwhile consideration.

The W580i comes with 12 Mbytes of internal memory which can be expanded with a card from the Memory Stick Micro range for extra storage. Bluetooth, EDGE, Fast Port, and USB connectivity options are available making files transfers unproblematic.
