The LG Prada is the long-awaited result of a collaboration between the Korean electronics giant and Milanese fashion institution Prada, and the logical conclusion following on from the coining of the 'fashion phone' tag, believed to have originated in the wake of LG's own KG800 Chocolate.
LG have come up with a touchscreen interface that is sensitive and reliable.
The Prada prefigures both the iPhone and LG Viewty in that is features a large touch-sensitive screen which doubles as both a display and main keypad. The first thing that strikes you when handling the handset is the touchscreen. LG have managed to create a touchscreen interface that is sensitive and reliable. Even recent touchscreen handsets have proved to be rather fiddly for those of us with less than dainty fingers. However the Prada bucks this trend, the user interface software can be used effortlessly and the simple power of using your fingers on a screen feels like the future.
So it's the catwalk in your pocket right? Not exactly, but that does not stop the KE850 Prada from being one of the most aesthetically pleasing handsets to ever be unleashed. It's a super slim, handbag friendly 85g phone that measures just over 5cm across (98.8 x 54 x 12 mm) a feature which is impressive in itself, more so when you realise that LG have managed to somehow squeeze a 3.2" touchscreen in there. This compact black tablet edged with metallic stripping on the side features some of the most eye-pleasingly animated menus on any phone we've come across, and comes included with a luxury Saffiano leather case and a static-free cloth to keep the screen clean with – the phone even comes with two pre-set ringtones, 'Woman' or 'Man' as if the Prada is some sort of fragrance and not a smartphone.
But the LG Prada is not all high cheekbones and haute coutre. It's the equivalent of a supermodel with a degree in nuclear physics. A 2 megapixel camera boasting a Schneider Kreuznach lens and LED flash is present amid the architecture of the Prada, and the video camera feature is capable of recording at 30fps – video can be played in popular formats including MPEG4, H263 and H264. The 8MB of onboard memory can be surgically enhanced up to 2GB by implanting a microSD card.
One drawback of the Prada is its battery life, which is as demanding as any catwalk diva – have your PA put it on a charge every day.
The Prada is an EDGE compatible handset which means you can download files at near 3G speeds. An MP3 player is included so you can vogue your way down to the shops, it supports all the main digital music formats and should you get bored of your tracks an FM radio is an additional option. The music player supports MP3, ACC and WMA file formats.
One major drawback of the Prada is its battery life, which is as demanding as any highly paid catwalk diva. Be prepared for multiple daily charges if you plan to make the most of the features on offer here. The Prada is, in short, a triumph, elevating the bar for mobile phones in terms of polish and presentation several notches, not only with it's exquisite looks but also with its features. It's a multi purpose phone that will please the feature hungry gadget fiend and the style junkie like. LG should start making room on the mantelpiece for even more awards.

Luxury touchscreen interface.
Excellent presentation, as you would expect from Prada.

I have had this phone for 4 months, there is not a phone yet I have not ruined. I love this phone and like every single feature on it! The easiest phone to use bar none! The games are brilliant, the internet is very very fast for mobile, the messaging is easy as being milk monitor at infant school and the video and mp3s are crystal clear!! LG really impressed me with this phone and I would buy this phone over and over!
