The Nokia 6500 classic is probably one of the thinnest handsets that Nokia has ever made. The finnish manufacturer have often come up with brilliant, but slightly bulky, handset designs. But the 6500 classic does it's best to debunk that commonly held myth.
This handset is a mere 9.5mm thick. While nowhere near as skinny as the RAZR2, the 6500 classic manages to pack some heavyweight features into it's slim frame. For a start the 6500 has a massive 1GB of internal memory. While there is no card slot for expandable memory, this should be enough to serve most users. You can store plenty of tracks and photos taken with the obligatory two megapixel camera.
Entertainment functions are further expanded by the inbuilt MP3 player. The speaker outputs a decent sound quality but nothing that would worry an iPod. To aid with music downloads, the 6500 classic is 3G compatible. This means that you can download audio files rapidly if you are in an area with 3G coverage.
The 6500 classic is not without flaw. There is no second camera for video calls and battery life is a bit of an issue (unsurprising when you consider that it is a thin 3G handset) but all in all this is a phone that will suit a huge number of users. Whether it is a classic or not is entirely up to them! |
