Samsung’s second annual Galaxy Unpacked event happened last night, introducing the world to the latest range of flashy new hardware powered by AI.

This time around it was the turn of the Galaxy Z range, better known as the resurging foldable and flip range, along with four smartwatches, all featuring design upgrades and deeper integration with Google Gemini. Here's everything you need to know.

Galaxy Z Fold7

  • Thinner and lighter than ever
  • 8-inch main display with 6.5-inch external screen
  • 200 MP main camera with Google Gemini AI

Samsung’s latest flagship foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold7, arrives with impressive design refinements and powerful internals.

It’s now the thinnest Fold to date, measuring 8.9 mm when folded and weighing just 215 grams. The device features a larger 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external screen, designed for seamless transitions between productivity and portability.

Inside, the Fold7 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, bringing advanced AI features like Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and Circle to Search – all integrated with Google’s Gemini AI.

The camera system has also taken a leap forward with a 200 MP main shooter, promising flagship-grade photography. However, in a notable shift, the S Pen stylus is no longer supported, signalling a new direction for Samsung’s foldables.

Galaxy Z Flip7

  • Thinnest Flip yet at 13.7 mm
  • Larger 4.1-inch cover screen
  • Personalized AI via Gemini Live

The Galaxy Z Flip7 continues to merge fashion and functionality. With a 6.9-inch main display and a larger 4.1-inch cover screen, this clamshell foldable is more versatile than ever. It’s also the thinnest Flip yet, measuring just 13.7 mm when closed.

One of the highlights is its Gemini Live AI assistant, which can offer outfit and meal suggestions by analysing your photos – blending lifestyle personalization with on-device smarts.

Thanks to a larger battery and optimizations, the Flip7 now offers up to 31 hours of video playback, making it both stylish and long-lasting.

On the imaging front, Samsung’s ProVisual Engine delivers enhanced colour rendering and dynamic contrast, elevating mobile photography to new heights.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE

  • Budget-friendly at $900
  • Smaller 3.4-inch cover display
  • Direct rival to Motorola’s Razr

Samsung is making foldables more accessible with the new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (Fan Edition). Priced at $900, this budget version retains the signature folding experience but features a slightly smaller 3.4-inch cover screen and likely trims some of the high-end specs seen in the standard Flip7.

It’s positioned to rival the Motorola Razr in the mid-tier foldable space, giving users a cost-effective gateway into the world of foldables without compromising the core Samsung software experience.

Galaxy Watch8 Series

  • Three models: Watch8, Classic, and Ultra
  • Vascular load and antioxidant tracking
  • Google Gemini replaces Assistant

Samsung's new Galaxy Watch8 line-up – which includes the Watch8, Watch8 Classic, and the rugged new Watch Ultra – delivers a holistic upgrade in both design and functionality. Inspired by the cushion-shaped casing of the Ultra, all models get a refined aesthetic and revamped health tracking tools.

New features include monitoring of vascular load and antioxidant levels, alongside enhanced sleep and running analytics. With Google Gemini now replacing Google Assistant, voice interaction becomes more fluid, conversational, and context-aware, bringing Google’s smartest AI right to your wrist.

Galaxy Watch Ultra

  • New Titanium Blue colourway
  • Military-grade ruggedness
  • Doubles storage to 64 GB

Leading the smartwatch pack is the Galaxy Watch Ultra, now with a bold Titanium Blue finish and military-grade durability. It’s built for the most demanding users, whether you're training for a triathlon or navigating the wilderness.

This year’s model doubles the onboard storage to 64 GB, ensuring ample room for offline music, apps, and workout data. Combined with all the AI-powered insights from the Watch8, the Ultra is Samsung’s most capable wearable yet.

Availability and launch dates

All the new Galaxy devices are available for pre-order starting 9th July, with official sales beginning 25th July 2025

Whether you're interested in premium foldables, smart lifestyle AI, or advanced fitness tracking, Samsung’s latest line-up reflects a clear push toward making AI the centre of the user experience — seamlessly integrated across smartphones and wearables alike.
