The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold combines Google's latest Tensor G6 performance, Gemini features and Pixel photography with two large displays in its most refined foldable yet.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Our Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Review

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold completes Google's Pixel 11 family, taking the premium features and AI-first approach of the range and adapting them to a book-style foldable.

Compared with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Google has concentrated on making the new model easier to live with. It's almost 10% lighter and around 1mm thinner, while bringing brighter displays, the new Tensor G6 processorupgraded camera hardware and Google's new HiLight notification system.

There's no radical rethink of the Pixel foldable formula, but these refinements make it Google's most accomplished folding phone so far. The bigger challenge comes from the competition, particularly Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra, which push foldable design and performance further in some key areas.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Design

Google has made some welcome changes to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold's dimensions. At around 239g, it's considerably lighter than the 258g Pixel 10 Pro Fold, while the thinner construction makes it more comfortable both folded and unfolded.

The overall look remains unmistakably Pixel, complete with rounded corners and Google's horizontal camera visor. This year, that camera bar incorporates HiLight, a collection of LEDs surrounding the flash that can provide colour-coded alerts for incoming calls and indicate when you're interacting with Gemini hands-free.

Durability is another strength. IP68 water and dust resistance returns after Google became the first major manufacturer to achieve the rating on a foldable with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

The improvements are noticeable, but Samsung has raised the bar significantly with its latest Fold devices. The Pixel remains bulkier than the sleekest competitors, while the central display crease is still more obvious than on the Galaxy Z Fold8.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Display

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold gives you two high-end OLED displays.

On the outside is a larger 6.5-inch Super Actua OLED display, increased from 6.4 inches on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. More importantly, it now uses an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, whereas the previous cover display operated between 60-120Hz.

Open the phone and you'll find an 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED display with a 2076 x 2152 resolution and adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. The internal display hasn't grown, but Google has reduced the bezels and improved the hinge to produce a flatter panel with a less prominent crease.

Both displays can reach 3,600 nits peak brightness, a sizable improvement over the 3,000-nit maximum of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. That makes the Fold considerably easier to use outdoors and gives HDR content extra punch.

It's a strong dual-screen setup, particularly for multitasking, reading and streaming, even if Samsung's latest foldables currently have the edge when it comes to disguising that central crease.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Camera

Google equips the Pixel 11 Pro Fold with a versatile triple-camera system headlined by a new 48MP main camera, alongside ultrawide and dedicated 5x telephoto cameras. There are also separate selfie cameras for the cover and folding displays.

The 48MP main sensor is one of the more worthwhile upgrades over the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, particularly in lower light. Google's computational photography remains a major part of the experience too, with Tensor G6 powering tools including Magic Capture, Camera Looks and Google's familiar AI editing features.

Having a proper 5x optical telephoto also gives the Pixel an advantage for long-distance shots compared with foldables that rely more heavily on digital cropping.

That said, this isn't quite the ultimate Pixel camera phone. The conventional Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL use more advanced camera hardware, and rivals such as the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra provide a stronger overall photography package. Reviews have particularly highlighted the Pixel Fold's ultrawide and telephoto cameras as areas where competitors can outperform it.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Performance

At the heart of the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is Google's new Tensor G6 processor, replacing the Tensor G5 found in its predecessor and pairing with 16GB RAM.

The new 2nm chipset delivers faster performance and improved efficiency, while providing the processing power behind Google's increasingly extensive Gemini features. Independent comparisons suggest a healthy performance increase over the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, particularly for general CPU workloads.

The phone runs Android 17 and is particularly strong when taking advantage of Google's AI features, voice tools and clean Pixel software experience. The large internal display also naturally lends itself to running apps side by side.

However, multitasking software remains somewhat basic compared with Samsung's mature One UI foldable experience, and Tensor G6 still isn't the strongest option for intensive mobile gaming. Qualcomm's Snapdragon-powered Fold8 models offer noticeably more graphics performance.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Battery & charging

Perhaps surprisingly, Google has actually reduced the battery capacity this generation. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold has around a 4,800mAh battery, down from the substantial 5,015mAh cell inside the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

Tensor G6's improved efficiency helps compensate for the smaller capacity, and real-world battery life remains strong enough for typical daily use. However, heavy use of that 8-inch internal display will naturally drain the battery considerably faster.

Wireless charging has been improved, with faster Qi2 Pixelsnap magnetic charging making compatible chargers, stands and other accessories more useful than before.

It's therefore something of a mixed upgrade. Charging and efficiency move forward, but reducing battery capacity on a power-hungry foldable isn't necessarily the change users would have been hoping for.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Where it doesn't move the needle

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is better than its predecessor, but there's no escaping how familiar much of the package feels.

The 8-inch internal display remains the same size and resolution, the overall design hasn't fundamentally changed and the phone is still thicker than some of its main foldable rivals. The display crease also remains noticeable despite Google's hinge improvements.

Battery capacity has actually gone backwards, falling from 5,015mAh on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold to around 4,800mAh, while Tensor G6 still can't match Snapdragon-powered rivals for demanding gaming.

HiLight is another interesting addition that currently feels somewhat limited, while Google's foldable multitasking tools could do with becoming more sophisticated.

Pixel 10 Pro Fold owners therefore have relatively little reason to rush into upgrading after only one year.

How much is the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold?

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold starts at £1799 in the UK, keeping it firmly among the most expensive smartphones on the market.

Storage configurations include:

  • 256GB | 16GB RAM - £1799
  • 512GB | 16GB RAM - £1919
  • 1TB | 16GB RAM - £2149

There are only two colourway options available for the Pro Fold; Olive and Obsidian. However, only the Obsidian has the three storage options. The Olive only comes with 256GB and 512GB.

At this price, the Pixel is competing directly with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 range rather than simply other Pixel phones. That makes its clean Android experience, Pixel cameras and Google AI integration important differentiators, particularly as Samsung currently offers some stronger foldable hardware.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold: Our verdict

The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the best foldable Google has made, but this is also the generation where the competition starts to expose some weaknesses in Google's approach.

There are plenty of worthwhile improvements over the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The lighter and thinner construction makes a genuine difference, both displays are significantly brighter and Tensor G6 provides better performance and efficiency. The upgraded main camera and Google's excellent photography software strengthen the package further.

However, the smaller battery, familiar 8-inch display and still-visible crease make this feel more like a polished Pixel 10 Pro Fold than a new direction for Google's folding phone. That's particularly noticeable alongside Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which currently sets a higher benchmark for foldable hardware, performance and multitasking.
