The Google Pixel 11 Pro is Google's compact flagship for 2026, offering most of the technology found in the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL without forcing you into an oversized handset.

Compared with the Pixel 10 Pro, this year's model is another refinement rather than a complete overhaul. The new Tensor G6 processor, brighter display, improved telephoto camera and faster charging all move things forward, while new software features like Magic Capture, Rambler and Gemini Intelligence give the phone some genuinely clever additions.

It also provides a clear step up from the standard Pixel 11, particularly for photography, display quality and premium features, making it the more tempting option for users who want the full Pixel experience without moving up to the larger Pro XL.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Design

The Pixel 11 Pro retains the recognisable design of its predecessor, with rounded corners, a polished metal frame and Google's distinctive horizontal camera bar.

Google has refined that camera bar this generation, with a sleeker design and edge-to-edge glass that helps the phone look slightly cleaner than the Pixel 10 Pro. Durability has also been improved, with Google placing greater emphasis on scratch resistance across the Pixel 11 family.

At around 6.3 inches, the Pro remains refreshingly compact compared with many modern flagship phones. That's one of its biggest advantages over the Pixel 11 Pro XL, which offers much of the same hardware but in a considerably larger body.

It also includes Google's new HiLight LED around the rear flash. The light can provide visual notifications and indicate certain Gemini activity, although its limited functionality at launch means it currently feels more like an interesting extra than a must-have feature.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Display

The Pixel 11 Pro features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED Super Actua display with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, giving it smoother scrolling and better power efficiency than the standard Pixel 11's 60-120Hz panel.

Brightness reaches a peak of around 3,600 nits, an improvement over the Pixel 10 Pro and considerably brighter than the regular Pixel 11. That makes outdoor visibility excellent, while the combination of OLED contrast, high resolution and adaptive refresh rates makes it equally impressive for gaming and streaming.

The overall experience isn't radically different from the Pixel 10 Pro, but this remains one of the strongest compact displays available. It's also essentially the same quality panel you'll find on the Pixel 11 Pro XL, only in a smaller form.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Camera

Photography is one of the biggest reasons to choose the Pro over the standard Pixel 11.

The Pixel 11 Pro features a triple-camera system built around:

• 50MP main camera
• 48MP ultrawide camera
• 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom
• 42MP front camera

The main setup is similar to the Pixel 10 Pro, but Google has upgraded the telephoto sensor and improved image processing through the new Tensor G6 chipset. The Pro models can now reach up to 120x Pro Res Zoom, considerably beyond the standard Pixel 11's 30x digital zoom capability.

Google has also introduced new camera software such as Camera Looks, which provides custom photographic styles, and Magic Capture, designed to help recover the perfect still image from moments you might otherwise miss. Night Sight is faster too, reducing the amount of time you need to hold the phone steady in darker conditions.

Compared with the regular Pixel 11, the larger ultrawide and telephoto sensors give the Pro noticeably more versatility, particularly for zoom, macro photography and low-light shots.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Performance

At the heart of the Pixel 11 Pro is Google's new Tensor G6 processor, the company's fastest and most efficient chip yet. It powers Android 17 and the latest generation of Gemini Intelligence features, including more proactive assistance across apps.

One slightly surprising change is memory. The base Pixel 11 Pro comes with either 12GB RAM or 16GB RAM depending on storage size, 

In everyday use, performance remains quick and responsive, particularly when handling Google's AI tools, photography and multitasking. However, Tensor still isn't the obvious choice for serious mobile gaming. Reviews have found the Pixel 11 Pro can struggle more than Snapdragon-powered rivals in demanding games and graphics-heavy workloads.

Where the Pixel really stands out is software. Rambler, Google's new voice transcription feature, can clean up natural speech, recognise corrections and automatically add formatting, while Gemini Intelligence aims to surface useful information before you manually go looking for it.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Battery & Charging

Battery life is solid rather than spectacular, with the smaller Pro naturally having less room for a battery than the Pixel 11 Pro XL.

Google has improved charging this generation, including stronger support for Pixelsnap and Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, making accessories easier to attach and giving the Pixel ecosystem something increasingly similar to Apple's MagSafe setup.

The Pixel 11 Pro is capable of comfortably getting through a typical day, although heavy camera use, gaming or extended use of the bright 120Hz display can still require an evening top-up. Battery performance is one area where the larger Pixel 11 Pro XL retains an advantage simply because of its greater capacity.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Where it doesn't move the needle

The Pixel 11 Pro improves on the Pixel 10 Pro, but several changes are relatively modest. The overall design, 6.3-inch form factor and basic triple-camera arrangement remain very familiar, meaning the phone doesn't immediately feel like a completely new generation.

The reduction from 16GB RAM on the Pixel 10 Pro to 12GB on the base Pixel 11 Pro is also a slightly strange backward step on paper, even if it's unlikely to make a major difference to most users and is only applicable to the smallest storage option.

Google's new HiLight LED is another feature that currently feels underdeveloped. Its limited app support and customisation mean it doesn't yet add much practical value, despite being one of the Pixel 11 Pro's more visible new features.

And while Tensor G6 is faster than Tensor G5, users prioritising raw gaming performance will still find stronger options elsewhere.

How much is the Google Pixel 11 Pro?

The Google Pixel 11 Pro sits above the standard Pixel 11 in Google's flagship lineup and launches at a premium price, with the base model starting around £1079 depending on storage configuration.

This represents a noticeable premium over the standard Pixel 11, so buyers are mainly paying extra for the better cameras, brighter LTPO display and Pro-specific hardware.

The decision between the Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL is therefore less about features and more about size. The two offer very similar flagship experiences, with the XL primarily adding a larger display, larger battery and faster charging.

Google Pixel 11 Pro: Our Verdict

The Google Pixel 11 Pro remains one of the most appealing compact Android flagships available.

Its biggest strengths are familiar Pixel ones - excellent cameras, intelligent software, a clean Android experience and Google's increasingly capable AI tools. The brighter Super Actua display, improved telephoto camera and Tensor G6 processor all make it better than the Pixel 10 Pro, even if none of them completely transform the experience.
