Our Google Pixel 10 Review
The Google Pixel 10 modernises the classic Pixel formula with thoughtful upgrades, introducing a long-awaited telephoto lens, lightning-fast Tensor G5 chip, and a sleek magnetic PixelSnap system using the new Qi2 standard for wireless charging accessories.
It still looks familiar - same 6.3‑inch OLED display and rounded design - but every detail now serves smarter performance, better battery life, and deeper integration with Google’s Gemini-powered AI features.
Google Pixel 10: Design
The outside look of the Pixel 10 is almost identical to the Pixel 9 Pro, but don’t let that deter you in any way - this is a vastly superior phone on the inside.
The Pixel 10 features flat aluminum sides, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front and back, and the rounded camera bar, which debuted on the Pixel 9 series.
The differences in design lie in the thickness and weight, with both coming in bigger than the previous iteration (8.6mm vs 8.5mm in thickness, 204g vs 198g in weight). That added heft, however, houses improved hardware without compromising the familiar Pixel feel.
Google Pixel 10: Display
Pixel 10 retains the same 6.3″ Actua OLED panel with adaptive smooth display (60-120 Hz) that was found on the base Pixel 9.
The upgrade from the base comes in the peak brightness department, with it now topping out at 3,000 nits, matching the Pixel 9 Pro and only just slightly less than the 10 Pro.
So far, you may be thinking that there isn’t much to separate the Pixel 9 and 10, but as hinted at earlier, the real upgrades come from within…
Google Pixel 10: Camera
The standout camera change is the addition of a 10.8 MP 5× optical zoom telephoto lens, joining the 48 MP wide and 13 MP ultrawide cameras, making it Google's first non‑Pro phone with true optical zoom and potentially changing the formula for their base phones to also include a triple rear camera system.
In truth, the new sensors are slightly smaller than those on the Pixel 9. But the upgraded chipset helps to bring AI-powered enhancements that promise sharper image quality and better low-light shots.
The Super Res Zoom has been upped to 20x (8x on Pixel 9) with optical quality also upgraded at 0.6x, 1x, 5x and 10x.
New Google AI features (more on those next) will help in many ways, but one of the most exciting ones is the new Camera Coach, which will help you to take your best pictures.
For video, the Pixel 10 supports 4K at 24/30/60fps and 1080p at 24/30/60fps. HDR video modes and cinematic blur return, now with cleaner processing thanks to the upgraded ISP. These refinements ensure that while hardware shifts slightly, the Pixel 10 still delivers a versatile and reliable camera experience.
Google Pixel 10: Performance
Under the hood sits the new Tensor G5 chip, built on a 3 nm process (vs G4’s 4 nm), yielding about 34% faster CPU speeds and 60% improved AI processing which drives features like Magic Cue and Camera Coach.
The phone launches with Android 16 and Google’s clean Material 3 Expressive UI built in. It also introduces PixelSnap, Google's magnetic attachment system using Qi2 wireless charging, allowing compatible accessories to attach seamlessly and align precisely.
Mostly though, the performance gains come from the advancements in Google AI and how it is utilised. Features such as Gemini Live, Circle to Search, Live Translate and more that were found on the Pixel 9 still remain, but now you’ll also get new AI features such as Magic Cue and Pixel Screenshots.
Battery capacity edges up to 4,970 mAh (from 4,700 mAh on the Pixel 9), paired with 30 W wired charging (vs 27 W) and 15 W Qi2 wireless charging - a tangible improvement in both endurance and convenience.
How much is the Google Pixel 10?
The Google Pixel 10 will match the Pixel 9 in price for both storage options (128GB and 256GB), starting at £799 for the former. It is available in four colours - Obsidian, Indigo, Frost and Lemongrass - and all four will be available with both storage sizes.

Google Pixel 10: Our Verdict
The Pixel 10 is a significant step up from the Pixel 9 in the way of internals, especially for users who value photography and AI-driven features. The new telephoto camera, elevated brightness, better battery and charging, and magnetic accessory support offer real upgrades. Tensor G5’s AI enhancements help it compete in areas where prior Pixels felt off the pace.
