Our Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Review

In keeping with Samsung’s usual practice, the Galaxy S24 FE represents a solid value-for-money device, boasting new and updated features on its predecessor by taking many elements from the standard S24 while keeping it relatively inexpensive.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Display

The display on the S24 FE is almost identical to that of the standard S24, with a 1080 x 2340 dynamic AMOLED 2X screen offering 120Hz and HDR10+. 

There are some noticeable differences, though. For instance, the peak brightness on the FE reaches only 1900 nits, 700 nits down on the S24 but still up 150 nits on the previous S23 FE. It also has a lower pixel density, although that is down to its larger size.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Camera

The camera system is unchanged from the S23 FE, featuring the tri-camera setup with a 50MP wide main, 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and 12MP ultrawide with 123-degree surrounding. The selfie camera also remains the same, with a 10MP wide lens.

As for video recording, with the rear camera, you can shoot 8K at 30fps, 4K at 30/60/120fps, 1080p at 30/60/120/240fps, and 720p at 960fps.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Design

The Galaxy S24 FE sees a big upgrade in size, not just on its predecessor but also on the superior S24. It matches the S24+ for size this year, coming in at 6.7 inches, as opposed to the 6.2 inches of the base S24 and 6.4 inches of the S23 FE.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Performance

This year, Samsung have made sure to make the chipset in the S24 FE the same everywhere, rather than the US getting one chipset and the rest of the world getting another like on the S23 FE and on the S24 range.

The S24 FE receives the Samsung-developed Enynos 2400e, an impressive chipset that is slightly less powerful than the standard 2400 found in the S24 in international markets outside of the US.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Features & Galaxy AI

The new Galaxy AI has been implemented on the full S24 range, including the S24 FE, and it brings with it, as Samsung themselves say, “meaningful intelligence to enhance every part of life.” 

It boasts features such as Live Translate, which enables barrier-free communication with intelligent text and call translations, and Chat Assist to better help communication by ensuring the right tone is conveyed and more.

How much is the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE?

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is the cheapest option in the S24 family, although with it having just been released and the S24 being out for a while, you may find deals that see the base S24 cheaper right now.

Outside of any deal prices, though, you’ll find the Galaxy S24 FE for cheaper, starting from £649.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE performs very well as a budget version of the S24 and is sure to please anyone who wants most of the new Samsung features without forking out too much.

While it isn’t a whole lot cheaper than the base S24, it still will cost you less and you’re getting an almost identical phone, so much respect from us to Samsung for once again serving their customers well.
