Taking AI to the next level, the Samsung Galaxy S25+ breaks the mold by offering much of the same components as the flagship Ultras, meaning there’s truly more for less.
Our Samsung Galaxy S25+ Review
With improvements in how the integrated AI is employed over hardware updates, there hasn’t been a massive change in the S25+ over its predecessor in many other fronts. But that’s not to say it’s not worth it, particularly when it matches the S25 Ultra in many aspects.
There is also the note that once again, the S25+ is almost identical to the baseline S25, hence why the reviews are basically the same. They are the same phone, just one’s bigger.
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Display
There’s not too much to shout about for the display as it remains the same from the S24+. The 6.7 inch QHD+ dynamic AMOLED 2X screen has a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, a peak brightness of 2600 nits and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Camera
Again, the camera is completely unchanged from the S24+ and the base S25, which has largely been the case since the S22.
The camera setup features a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP 3x telephoto, all which helps produce good quality photos. The front/selfie camera also remains at 12MP.
Video capture remains solid, with 8K at 24/30 fps, 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30/60/120/240 fps. The selfie camera is capable of 4K at 30/60 fps and 1080p at 30 fps.
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Design
You’d be forgiven if you mistook an S25+ for an S24+ as the two devices are incredibly similar in design. It does weigh slightly less, however - 190g compared to 196g, so nothing major.
The glass front and back features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 with an aluminium frame surrounding. It has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating, meaning it is immersible up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
One advantage the S25+ does have over its predecessor is that it is more durable, featuring an Enhanced Armour Aluminium Frame now for more resistance to drops.
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Performance
A lot of the outer bits on the S25+ that you can see may remain the same, but it's the internal components that hold the main differences.
As usual, it has the latest upgraded chipset, but unlike other years where certain markets got one chipset and others got another, this time around all markets are receiving the super impressive Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.
This helps with the ever-evolving integrated AI and ensures that the device is capable of running all functions properly without slowing it down. This is also aided by the expanded 12GB which is available on all storage options, as opposed to before when there was 8GB for one storage option and 12GB for the other.
The battery remains at 4900mAh, the same that is found in the S24+, offering up to 30 hours of video playback.
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Features
The biggest changes in the S25 come in the software and AI improvements. Running on the latest version of the One UI 7 (Android 15), it includes multiple new AI tools that helps with automation and productivity.
The new tools are designed around helping users to perform tasks more efficiently, anticipating needs to find information needed ahead of time or perform multiple complex tasks.
Google’s Gemini assistant is constantly evolving and now has better uses on the S25, with the highlight being that it is now capable of interacting with information on the web and apps on the device to get things done without the need for the user to manually enter them, such as passwords or entering dates into the calendar.
This can all be done via text or voice commands, where you can now ask for more complex actions with the device better capable of completing them.
A new “Now” bar features at the bottom of the lock screen and can display timely information such as widgets, timers, media controls etc.
How much is the Samsung Galaxy S25+?
As ever, there are only two storage options to choose from with the S25+, starting from 256GB.
- 256GB = £999
- 512GB = £1099
Samsung Galaxy S25+: Our verdict
The new S25 is a very solid upgrade from the S24. Sure, on the outside it doesn’t seem like much. Much of the internals of these new devices are what gives it a good boost over its predecessors.
The S25+ is certainly a great performing device, and even though it is just a slightly bigger and more expensive S25, it won’t fail you should you opt for it.
