The iPhone 12 Pro will release two variants: the standard iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone Pro Max, the latter being the larger phone, of course. 

iPhone 12: Display

The iPhone 12 Pro display is 6.1 inches in size from corner to corner, with an all-screen OLED Super Retina XDR and 2532x1170 pixels. 

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has effectively the same specs regarding the display, apart from the screen size, which is 6.7 inches, and the screen resolution, which is 2778x1284. 

iPhone 12 Pro: Design

The new iPhone Pro models have a flat-edged design wrapped in a stainless steel band, finished off with matte glass on the rear of the phone. This iPhone model also introduces us to the Ceramic Shield - a seriously tough smartphone glass infused with nano-ceramic crystals to significantly improve toughness and the likelihood of your phone cracking if you happen to drop it. 

The iPhone 12 Pros will also feature a larger edge-to-edge display, obviously differing in size depending which model you go for. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will actually offer the largest display in the history of all iPhones, along with the highest resolution featuring nearly 3.5 million pixels for an amazing viewing experience. 

iPhone 12 Pro: Camera

The iPhone Pro adds a third camera to its roster (the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have two), which comes in the form of a 12 megapixel telephoto lens, which is harnessed to the max to allow users to take Deep Fusion photos. The Pro models also have a LIDAR sensor, which Apple says can do up to 6x faster autofocus and let you take Night Mode portrait photos. 

There are some differences in the iPhone 12 Pro Max. In the Max version of the new phone, you will have a longer 2.5x optical zoom and a 12x digital zoom. All other camera features of the iPhone Pro Max are the same as that of the iPhone 12 Pro standard model. 

iPhone 12 Pro: Performance

Both the Pro and the Pro Max house the A14 Bionic chip, the first in the smartphone industry to be built on a 5-nanometer process, making the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max faster and more superior to any iPhone before it. As a matter of fact, the A14 Bionic chip is the fastest by up to 50% compared to its next fastest competitors. 

iPhone 12 Pro: 5G

The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will bring customers into a completely different mobile network experience with 5G. Improved speeds, faster downloads and uploads, better-quality video streaming, HD Facetiming and so much more. Out in public, users will experience much less latency as they did with 4G that can become ‘clogged up’ in densely-populated areas. 

The iPhone 12 Pro will feature the most 5G bands than any other smartphone on the market, and the Pro model offers the broadest 5G coverage across the globe. The iPhone Pro model will also feature Smart Data mode, which prolongs battery life by accessing 5G needs intelligently, and balancing data usage, speed and power in real-time. 

How much is the iPhone 12 Pro?

The iPhone 12 Pro 128GB will be on sale for a pound shy of the full thousand at £999. The Pro Max 128 GB will set you back another £100, coming in at £1099. 

The iPhone 12 Pro 256GB and 512GB models will cost £1,099 and £1,299 respectively, and the same iPhone Pro Max models will cost £1,199 and £1,399.
