Our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE Review
For those who aren’t sold by the higher price point of the Fold7 or Flip7 or just want a less expensive way into trying the tech giant's flagship range, Samsung have introduced the Flip7 FE - essentially a lite version of the new Flip7.
Resembling that of the previous generation Flip6, the Flip7 FE offers a solid device that has the latest Galaxy AI features found in the Fold7 and Flip7 at a lower price point.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Design
In design, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could essentially be better known as the Flip6 v2 as they have identical dimensions. Both measure 165.1 × 71.9 × 6.9mm when unfolded and 85.1 × 71.9 × 14.9mm folded, weighing 187g.
It also retains IP48 water and dust resistance, Gorilla Glass protection, and Armor Aluminum build for durability.
As a budget “Fan Edition,” its design isn’t groundbreaking, but it continues delivering the familiar, dependable Flip aesthetic.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Display
Inside, the FE retains the 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display with FHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate - identical to the Flip 6.
The 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen also remains unchanged, with a 60Hz refresh rate and modest usability.
So, compared to the full-fledged Flip 7 upgrades (e.g., larger 4.1‑inch cover), the FE makes no display improvements, but keeps the reliable setup of the Flip 6.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Camera
Considering that the camera hardware remained unchanged between the Flip6 and Flip7, it should come as no surprise that the Flip7 FE’s cameras also feature nothing new.
A 50MP main lens (OIS) and 12MP ultra-wide is used for the main rear camera setup, while the front camera retains the 10MP lens.
While optics remain the same, the FE benefits from Galaxy AI features powered via One UI 8 and Android 16 - like Generative Edit and AI enhancements - that weren’t available on the Flip6.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE: Performance
The FE swaps in Samsung’s Exynos 2400 SoC (4 nm), paired with 8 GB RAM and storage options of 128 GB or 256 GB UFS 4.0.
That’s a downgrade from the Flip 6’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and 12 GB RAM, meaning a notable hit in raw performance.
Reviewers report thermal throttling and slower multitasking, though real‑world use remains adequate for most users.
How much is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE?
The Flip7 FE is essentially identical to the Flip6 only with better AI capabilities but lesser performance. For this, and the fact that it is a “Fan Edition” variant which usually comes for less than the standard version, the Flip7 FE is available for less than £1000 - a first for the Samsung Galaxy Z series.
Saying that, it isn’t incredibly cheaper than the Flip7; starting from £849, the Flip7 FE is £200 less.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is Samsung’s most accessible foldable yet, bringing modern software and AI upgrades to a familiar, under‑£1,000 package.
It maintains the Flip 6’s durable design, hinge feel, display setup, and camera hardware. On the plus side, it comes with Android 16, One UI 8, Galaxy AI features, and a 7‑year update promise.
However, compromises are clear: reduced RAM (8 GB vs 12 GB), slower Exynos 2400 chip, same small battery (4,000 mAh), and no display enhancements or significant battery.
Reviewers suggest that, in many cases, the Flip 6 may offer better value - especially if discounted - unless buyers prioritize the newer AI features and software support
